Does your TMS auto-invoice?

Does your TMS automatically manage orders?

Does your TMS automatically apply the correct rates to those orders?

Does your TMS automatically generate invoices the instant an order is complete?

If your TMS handles only the transport management component of your operations, it’s really not up to much, is it?

Most importantly, though, if your TMS is not able to reduce your Order-to-Cash cycle to an absolute minimum, you’re asking for late payment of invoices.

Put simply, the later you invoice your clients, the longer you will wait to be paid. But you don’t need us to tell you this - you know it in your bones if you’ve been in business for any length of time. This recent article refers: "customers are likely to use every trick at their disposal to withhold payments".

At any time, but especially in the current business climate, it is imperative that freight transport operators are efficient with their invoicing and accurate with their charging (a mistake in an invoice is an irresistible invitation to late payment).

A modern, sophisticated TMS should be able not only to manage orders but also to ensure that only the correct rates are applied to them - this goes even for those devious little gremlins, fuel levies. The TMS should then automatically produce invoices and self-bills, thus reducing the Order-to-Cash cycle to the width of a wafer-thin mint. Obviously there will be discrepancies from time to time, but a TMS such as our own CarrierNet is able to manage these so that they can be resolved as quickly as possible and, in the vast majority of cases, on an automated basis. Furthermore, by being able to apply the aforementioned fuel surcharges in a timeous manner, there are far less likely to be pushbacks from your customers on that front.

If you would like to see just how a top-of-the-line TMS does all this (seamlessly!), contact Bashir Khan right here and he’ll demonstrate the ease with which can be done.
