In freight transport, AI is A1*

It rarely happens that any company will publicly admire a competitor’s point of view but in this case we have to agree with Bernhard Schmaldienst of Transporean that AI is something that is good for the freight transport industry and not something to be feared. As he stated in this article, the start-up costs of incorporating AI into transport management systems more than pay for themselves as operations are made much more efficient overall. At Deltion, we also believe that any 'management of change' burden is significantly reduced - witness, for example, how we all now use AI in some capacity in our daily work, and most of us certainly did not require any management intervention to get to this point.

Our experience has shown us that more forward-thinking customers that have already delegated significant responsibilities to AI are seeing considerable benefits and accumulating substantial bottom-line value. Obviously, managers need to ensure that operating procedures are well thought out and rigorously tested (this also applies to the conduct of their relationships with external stakeholders, be they customers or suppliers). Furthermore, we believe that the role of IT systems providers is to enable freight transport operators to work smarter, more efficiently and achieve better results for their customers - and these days that means using AI. Our own CarrierNet transport management ecosystem is built to work in precisely this way. Contact us here to find out how we make that happen.
